Paya Lebar MRT Station (EW8/CC9) serves as an interchange station for the East-West Line and the Circle Line in Singapore. The Circle Line is the second line in Singapore after the North East Line to be completely automated and driverless and is among the world’s longest driverless rapid transit lines.

Structural investigation revealed the need for repairs and strengthening of beams at this MRT station. Fibrwrap Construction Pte Ltd was enlisted for its reputation as a committed solution provider for structural strengthening to address the issue.

Analysed and designed by Fibrwrap Construction, the existing structure was strengthened to accommodate the new loads. The TYFO® Fibrwrap® System, known for its lightweight and high-strength features, was chosen due to its ease of installation. The proposal met both the technical requirements and cost expectations of the client, leading to its acceptance.

The implementation of the TYFO® Fibrwrap® System minimized disruption during the strengthening work. Part of the car park was temporarily closed at night to facilitate the work. The project was completed successfully to the client’s satisfaction.
