Mapletree Logistics Trust (MLT) previously owned this 7-storey warehouse in Tai Seng Industrial Estate before Mapletree Industrial Trust (MIT) acquired it in 2017. Sitting on a land area of 96,500 square feet, the warehouse has a gross floor area of 256,600 square feet. Equinix Singapore leases the facility in full, and it is specifically designed to cater to customer colocation needs.
The TYFO® Fibrwrap® Composite System was used to increase the load capacity of the existing post-tensioned slabs and beams to cater for higher design floor loads. This non-destructive strengthening method prevented the reduction of headroom due to its minimal thickness. The TYFO® Fibrwrap® Composite System had spaces between the strips, allowing for drilling holes to install frame support for the fire sprinklers and thermal ceilings on the concrete surface. The TYFO® WR-AFP System, which is cementitious-based, provided fire protection to the installed TYFO® Fibrwrap® Composite System and eliminated the risk of generating any dust or debris that could potentially harm the servers and equipment in the facility.
In 2019, Equinix Singapore received the completed new data centre, now known as SG4 Data Centre. It helps businesses enhance their performance by linking them to their customers and partners within the most interconnected data centres worldwide. By using the TYFO® Fibrwrap® Systems, the required load carrying capacity for the data centre was achieved without major disruption and with minimal impact on the overall weight of the structure.
