Rectification of Pile Caps for North-South Corridor Contract using TYFO^® Fibrwrap^® Systems

Cracks were found on the surfaces of the existing pile caps supporting the elevated railway near Yio Chu Kang MRT station (NS15). The observation was during the excavation work for a North-South Corridor (NSC) contract. The main contractor approached Fibrwrap Construction Pte Ltd for the rectification of pile caps.

The TYFO^® Fibwrap^® System was recommended and approved for the repair. The existing cracks were initially repaired by injecting epoxy. The TYFO^® Fibwrap^® System was installed following the repair of cracks. The TYFO^® Fibwrap^® System served as externally bonded reinforcement upon the repair of cracks, providing additional protection against water ingress.

Overall, the project was completed to the satisfaction of all parties.
