Strengthening and Corrosion Protection for an Existing PUB Pipe at Nexus International School

The new reinforced concrete box drain passed directly above the existing PUB pipe of diameter 800mm. The box drain, intended for the new Nexus International School building, induced additional external load to the existing pipe. Furthermore, it obstructed access to the pipe, posing challenges for future maintenance.

As a solution, the TYFO^® Fibrwrap^® System was proposed to strengthen the 12m span of the pipe. The wrapping was done externally which also served as corrosion protection, extending the pipe’s service life and reducing maintenance needs.
