Constructed in 1940, Seletar Reservoir was developed as Singapore’s third impounding reservoir to address the increased demand for water following World War I. A freshwater mains system was established to distribute clean drinking water to city areas including the Central Business District, Marina Bay, Bugis, Lavender, and Boon Keng.

After years of service, the condition of the existing water mains became a concern due to observed signs of deterioration and sagging, prompting the need for rehabilitation.

Fibrwrap Construction Pte Ltd was awarded to enhance the strength and durability of the pipes through the use of TYFO® Fibrwrap® System, aiming to minimize maintenance requirements and prolong their operational lifespan. Throughout the strengthening process, Fibrwrap Construction ensured uninterrupted service to residents and businesses.

Despite challenges such as adverse weather conditions, all work was successfully completed within the stipulated five-day period.
